I remember very clearly my first SHP conference in 2001. I had recently become Head of History and one of the first changes that I introduced to the department was to scrap the Modern World course and switch to SHP Medicine and Germany. I loaded myself up with textbooks by Chris Culpin and Ian Dawson and set off for a new dawn.
